July 05, 2013
ZTE has bagged several deals from China Telecom to increase the operator’s network capacity and optimise its 3G network. These contracts are a part of China Telecom’s 2013 CDMA network procurement program.
The contract’s financial terms were not revealed. As per the deal, the vendor will supply over 30,000 units of software defined radio-based distributed base stations.
This equipment is expected to help the operator migrate from a macro station-based network architecture to a more distributed one that enhances indoor and rural area coverage.
