Airtel Money CEO, Govind Rajan to join Snapdeal
Airtel Money chief executive officer (CEO) Govind Rajan will join e-commerce company Snapdeal as its chief strategy officer beginning August 2015. He is currently leading Airtel Money as CEO and also serving as chief marketing officer at Bharti Airtel, where he is responsible for revenue and market share growth, customer life cycle management, and building marketing capability across the organisation. Rajan has put in his papers at Airtel and is currently serving his notice period.
Rajan is the third senior official from Airtel to join Snapdeal within a span of three months. In April 2015, Airtel's head of contact experience, Jayant Sood left the telecom major to join Snapdeal as chief customer experience officer, followed by Airtel's chief product officer Anand Chandrasekaran, who too joined the e-commerce player.
Rajan has over 17 years of experience in customer life cycle management and marketing capability. Before Airtel, he worked with Hindustan Unilever (HUL), where he was the regional vice-president (VP) South Asia for skin cleansing and prior to that, VP for the skin care business. He has also served as the customer marketing and sales operations head of HUL.
