Nokia appoints Rupa Santosh to head Nokia Networks’ Technology Centre at Bangalore
Nokia has appointed Rupa Santosh head of Nokia Networks' Technology Centre, Bengaluru.
Santosh will be responsible for managing the centre as amongst the leading research and development (R&D) site for Nokia Networks globally. The Bangalore Technology Centre is one of the largest R&D centre for Nokia Networks contributing to key product development in telecommunications networks. The centre located at Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru has an employee base of 4,000.
Prior to taking over her new role, Santosh was leading single RAN R&D at Bangalore where she spearheaded R&D across key network entities like radio network controller, base transceiver station and femto, providing leadership to over 450 member team.
Commenting on Santosh’s appointment, Sandeep Girotra, vice-president and head of India market, Nokia Networks, said, “Santosh brings over 20 years of experience in telecommunications network research and development having performed diverse roles and managed products within Nokia. She brings in exceptional understanding of the telecom industry. Her experience will further strengthen Nokia’s research and development (R&D) functions globally and for our operations in India. ”
