Manoj Kohli steps down from his position of MD at Bharti Enterpries
Manoj Kohli, managing director (MD), Bharti Enterprises has put in his papers at the company. Earlier, in February 2015, he had resigned from the board of Bharti Airtel as a non-executive director, marking his formal exit from the telecom business of Bharti Airtel group.
Kohli has been with Bharti Airtel group for the last 10 years. Since 2002, he has held key executive positions at the group leading its various businesses. He led Bharti Airtel's Indian operations for eight years during which the operator’s customer base reportedly grew from 1 million to 140 million. Later in 2010, Kohli moved to Africa to lead the operator’s telecom business in the region. Meanwhile, in April 2014, he quit as MD and chief executive officer of Airtel’s International Business to take over as MD of Bharti Enterprises.
Besides Bharti Airtel Group, Kohli has also worked with brands such as Escotel Mobile Communications Limited, Shriram Group and Honeywell.
