TRAI appoints Sudhir Gupta as secretary

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has appointed Sudhir Gupta as secretary. Prior to his new role, Gupta was serving as a principal advisor with the regulatory body.
Gupta has been associated with the TRAI for last 10 years. Over the years, he has played a key role in the formulation of recommendations and policies regarding the 3G spectrum auction, mobile number portability and the new unified licensing regime etc.
Besides, TRAI, Gupta has also worked with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited.
