TCIL and ZTE partner for smart cities and railway projects
Telecommunications Consultants of India Limited (TCIL) has partnered with China-based telecom gear maker ZTE Corporation on smart cities and railway projects. As per the agreement, ZTE and TCIL will jointly work to install smart city solutions in the country in line with government initiatives, and set up communications and information technology solutions for railways.
ZTE will work under the public private partnership (PPP) mode in which the government will provide guiding funds, support policies and social resources to construct and operate smart cities. Meanwhile, TCIL has been awarded the work for designing, supplying, installing, testing and commissioning of GSM-based mobile train radio communication system for the eastern railway.
