DoT issues details on 2100 MHz band spectrum for the March 2015 auctions
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued details for the sale of spectrum in the 2100 MHz band for the auctions scheduled for March 4, 2015. As per the details issued, the government will put up 5 MHz of 3G spectrum in 17 criclesbase at a price of Rs 37.05 billion per MHz. The 3G spectrum will not be available in the Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab circles. Consequently, a total of 85 MHz of 3G spectrum is being put up for auction.

The interested telecom companies are required to submit their application to participate in the auction by February 16, 2015. Further, they can approach DoT to seek further clarifications by February 2, 2015.
