Intel Corporation launches ‘Digital Skills for India' program, partners with BBNL

The US-based multinational, Intel Corporation has announced the ‘Digital Skills for India’ program. The project aims to impart digital knowledge to around five million citizens of India by end 2015. With the launch, the company will also be working with the Indian government’s Digital India initiative. In this regard, it has partnered with Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL), the key implementing agency of the National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) project to provide digital training to key resource persons in the first 1,000 panchayats under the NOFN project.

As part of the partnership, Intel has launched the Digital Skills Training application which would be available on the Android Play Store from December 6, 2014. The application will provide modules on digital literacy, financial inclusion, healthcare and cleanliness in five regional languages.

Meanwhile, it is planning to launch the 'Innovate For India Challenge' initiative in 2015 which would help innovations across platforms to create solutions for India.
