DoT shortlists three technology firms to conduct e-auctions in February 2015
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has shortlisted three technology firms - Kolkata-based mjunction services, a consortium led by Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation and C1 India for conducting spectrum e-auction, likely to be held in February 2015. DoT will open the bids for selecting the final auctioneer on November 28, 2014.
The amount paid to the auctioneer will be a percentage of difference between the reserve price of spectrum and final the price derived through the process. DoT is selecting the auctioneer to conduct the sale of of the spectrum across various bands, including 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz and 2500 MHz bands. The auctioneer will be selected for three years and the contract can be further extended for a period of one year.
Gujarat based IT firm e-Procurement had operated the last three spectrum auctions held in November 2012, March 2013 and February 2014.
