February 27, 2014
American Tower Corporation (ATC) is likely to bid for Viom Networks, a joint venture between Tata Teleservices Limited and the Srei Group, say news reports.
ATC has reportedly valued Viom Networks at about Rs 100-120 billion, excluding debt. The tower company’s debt is estimated at Rs 72 billion, which is expected to decline to Rs 65 billion by the end of 2014 as the company plans to repay few of its loans through internal accruals.
Nasdaq-listed ATC plans to expand its footprint in India by acquiring Viom Networks which has a tower portfolio of about 41,000 towers with a tenancy ratio of 2.35. At present, ATC has about 10,000 towers across India.
