TRAI asks Hutchison and Idea to not discriminate between private and government-owned operators

News , November 15, 2005

TRAI has asked telecom operators Hutchison and Idea to not discriminate between private and government-owned operators. The tariff order states that no service provider should discriminate between subscribers of the same class. The two companies had been charging higher tariffs for calls made to the GSM networks of MTNL and BSNL. Complying with the TRAI directive, both companies have since withdrawn the differential tariffs.
