In a bid to increase the availability of bandwidth for the small and medium enterprise segment, DoT has permitted the resale of international private leased circuits (IPLCs).

n a bid to increase the availability of bandwidth for the small and I medium enterprise segment, DoT has permitted the resale ofinternational private leased circuits (IPLCs). For this, DoT has created a new category of licence called "Resale of IPLC Service". This will enable the licence holder to enter into agreements with access providers and national and international long distance (NLD and ILD) service providers for providing IPLC services to end-customers. According to IPLC norms, only those companies that are registered in India, and with a combined net worth and minimum paid-up capital of Rs 25 million, are permitted to apply for the licence. The entry fee for the licence has been set at Rs 10 million, while the annual licence fee will be 6 per cent of the company's adjusted gross revenue or Rs 500,000, whichever is higher.
