According to news reports, MTNL has withdrawn its Rs 15 billion global tender for procurement of 3G network equipment for over 4 million lines. Company officials have cited "minor technical glitches" in the tender as the reason for the withdrawal, but did not specify when the process would be resumed. According to industry sources, the company had to withdraw the tender owing to a discord between Chinese manufacturers and European companies over the terms and conditions stipulated in the tender document.
