SM and CDMA service providers have reportedly opposed TRAI's G proposal to allow internet service providers (ISPs) to offer unrestricted internet telephony services in India. According to the Cellular Operators Association of India and the Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI), ISPs should be subjected to the same entry fee, licence fee, revenue share and other terms and conditions as the existing unified access licensees.
However, companies such as Google, Microsoft and some consumer rights organisations support the Internet Service Providers Association of India's right to provide services subject to the payment of a termination fee to telecom operators.
