BTVL is all set to roll out 3G services on a national level over the next 18-20 months. For this, it has earmarked an investment of around $1 billion to upgrade its network to make it 3G compatible.

However, its plans are contingent on getting the go-ahead from TRAI and allocation of suitable spectrum.
