vodafone plans to invest Rs 80 billion in India in 2007. It has already initiated the process of changing the name of its newly acquired company, Hutchison Essar, to Vodafone Essar with the Registrar of Companies. Meanwhile, Vodafone is finalising its branding plans and the composition of Vodafone Essar's board of directors. The entire process is expected to be completed when Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin comes to India.
