PT Telkom plans to invest $188 million this year in its fixed wireless telephone service

Indonesia's state-owned telecommunication company PT Telkom plans to invest $188 million this year in its fixed wireless telephone service called Telkom Flexi based on CDMA. Most of the funds will be used to build up to 500 new units of base transceiver stations (BTSs). The number of Telkom Flexi subscribers is projected to increase by 1.6 million this year. Currently, the service of Telkom Flexi reaches 206 cities in the country with 1,200 units of BTS. By the end of this year, the number of cities will be increased to 232.
