The government has simplified the national long distance (NLD) and international long distance (ILD) licence norms.

News , March 15, 2007

The government has simplified the national long distance (NLD) and international long distance (ILD) licence norms. Currently, all NLD and ILD operators are mandated to install four gateways before they can launch services. However, following the amendments to the licence agreement, they will have to install only a single gateway within three years of receiving the licence. This also implies that for the first three years, operators who do not have their own infrastructure can provide services based on bandwidth leased from other NLD and ILD operators.
