Intex is targeting to generate revenues of Rs 12 billion from sale of 4G smartphones as demand for devices compatible with the high speed Internet service grows in the country.
The company currently offers 4G smartphones and intends to increase its portfolio through addition of six new 4G handsets by March 2016. The company intends to make mobile handsets priced over Rs 5,000 per unit compatible for 4G technology.
Intex already has an order for supply of 100,000 phones from Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. The handsets are priced under Rs 10,000 per unit and Reliance Retail will distribute the devices.
