MTNL to launch its 4G services in the Delhi and Mumbai circles in 2017
October 20, 2015
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) will reportedly launch its 4G services across the Delhi and the Mumbai circles in 2017.
Unlike private operators, MTNL does not hold liberalised spectrum. The operator has 6.2 MHz of airwaves in the 900 MHz spectrum band in each of the two circles. It is planning to launch the 4G services in this 900 MHz band which will be available for renewal in 2017.
MTNL is also likely to consider spectrum sharing and trading only after getting spectrum extension in 2017.
