RJIL enters into spectrum sharing agreement with RCOM for 800 MHz band across seven circles
Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) has entered into a spectrum sharing agreement with Reliance Communications (RCOM) for the 800 MHz band across seven circles. The deal will provide RJIL with more bandwidth to offer high speed data and video services.
The company is presently testing its networks and has substantially completed the network roll-out across the country. It expects to ramp up its beta program over the next few weeks to further optimise the network, prior to commercial launch of operations. The first year of commercial operations for RJIL is likely to be 2016-17.
Currently, RJIL has launched its Wi-Fi services across several locations in the country and has entered into agreements with various state and local authorities for the same. It is also laying fibre for its wireline broadband business.
