OnePlus partners Foxconn for smartphones manufacturing in India
October 13, 2015
China-based handset manufacture OnePlus has collaborated with Foxconn to manufacture smartphones in India by end of 2015. The two companies will produce smartphones at Foxconn’s Rising Stars factory within the Sri City Integrated Business City in Andhra Pradesh. The 30,000 square feet manufacturing facility can produce up to 500,000 units per month.
OnePlus is of the view that local production will not only make their operations more efficient in terms of cost and working capital requirements but also help in improving products availability. The company had earlier been unable to meet the demand for its smartphones – OnePlus 1 and OnePlus 2 – in India.
