TTSL approaches DoT for liberalisation of its CDMA spectrum
Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) has applied for liberalising its spectrum in the 800 MHz band in the Andhra Pradesh and Delhi circles. The operator intends to pay the market-determined price for liberalising its spectrum, which will be based on the price discovered in the previous auctions. The liberalisation of spectrum will enable the operator to launch its 4G services using the liberalised spectrum.
TTSL also reportedly intends to liberalise its spectrum in the 800 MHz band for Mumbai and Maharashtra circles. The company may also consider Haryana circle for the same at a later stage.
At present, TTSL holds two slots of 3.5 MHz each in the Andhra Pradesh circle and two slots of 5 MHz and 1.25 MHz in the Delhi circle. In the Mumbai and Maharashtra circles, the operator holds a total of 7.5 MHz of spectrum in the 800 MHz band in each service area.
