UAE to invest in Digital India and other communications projects

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed pacts to engage and co-operate in the field of telecommunication, amongst various other sectors such as tourism, security, investment and trade, with a view to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries..
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two telecom regulatory authorities comes years after strained relations in the telecom domain, following issue related to a UAE-base operator with its Indian partner.
UAE has stated that it is keen to strengthen ties with India in Communications domain and is looking to invest in programmes like Make in India, Digital India and Smart Cities.
