COAI and AUSPI approach MCD to de-seal authorised telecom towers
Industry bodies Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and Association of Unified Service Providers of India (AUSPI) have approached the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to de-seal the telecom towers in compliance with the directions passed by the Delhi High Court recently.
According to COAI and AUSPI, the MCD has sealed more than 70 of those since the date of filing of an application in the High Court for restraining such actions. The associations have further stated that the MCD has not yet de-sealed many towers and continues to seal additional towers despite the companies having valid permissions for their erection.
The two telecom associations have requested the municipal bodies to refrain from taking any further coercive action such as sealing, demolition or disconnection of electricity of any other telecom towers till the appeals pending before the High Court’s Division Bench were finally decided.
