Vodafone India has stated that it has invested over Rs 730 million to ramp up its network, distribution and retail presence in Goa during 2014-15. The company has expanded its network footprint by adding over 170 new 3G and 60 new 2G base transceiver stations (BTSs) across the state.
The company has set up one of the largest networks in the state with more than 475 3G sites. Presently, the overall data contribution to service revenues is about 18 per cent. Moreover, the company has stated that 3G has shown tremendous uptake and has been growing at 100 per cent year-on-year.
According to Vodafone, this ramp up has allowed the company to further strengthen its position in Goa across network coverage, subscriber base, retail footprint and revenue market share.
