June 17, 2015
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is planning to introduce mobile wallet (m-wallet) in partnership with State Bank of India, over the next two months.
The m-wallet facility will allow withdrawal from SBI ATMs. The m-wallet user will be able to pay for various services such as recharge of prepaid cards and mobile/utility bills, book film tickets and shop online. Further, the user will be able to transfer money using the service.
BSNL will also shortly introduce BSNL Buzz, a cell broadcast service to earn revenue from its potential advertisers. The service will help advertisers tap potential customers with location-based targeted campaigns and marketing information.
