Bharti Airtel has raised $1 billion through sale of 10-year dollar-denominated foreign bonds. The issue was reportedly priced 210 basis points above the 10-year US treasury rate.
The issue was arranged by Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Barclays, BNP Paribas, and Standard Chartered. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund the operator’s capex.
The company, which reported a net debt of $10.68 billion for 2014-15, has raised about $4 billion through bonds in the past two years.
