BSNL announces investments worth Rs 800 billion to expand its network capacity
January 15, 2005
BSNL has announced investments worth Rs 800 billion to expand its network capacity to 120 million lines, including fixed and wireless lines, over the next three years. This will signify a 200 per cent increase in its network capacity compared to what it has added since Independence. In order to fund this expansion, BSNL will rely on external borrowings, such as raising money through bonds, factoring and tie-ups with equipment suppliers. Funding from internal accruals is also an option.
