Vodafone India invests Rs 4.8 billion to strengthen its telecom network in Uttar Pradesh (East)
Vodafone India has invested Rs 4.8 billion to strengthen its mobile coverage and distribution network in Uttar Pradesh (East) circle between April 2014 and March 2015.
The operator has added more than 800 new 3G sites across Uttar Pradesh (East) in the past 12 months and as a result it has extended 3G coverage to about 45 million consumers across the circle. Following the expansion of the network, Vodafone India now has more than 12,200 3G and 2G sites in Uttar Pradesh (East), covering over close to 97 per cent of the population in the circle.
Further, with the expansion of its distribution network, the operator currently has more than 225,000 retail outlets in the circle, and close to 800 Vodafone stores. Over the past 12 months, Vodafone India has also set up 11 Global Design Stores in the circle.
