News , April 14, 2015

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) is reportedly planning to launch its voice and mobile data services in New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Nagpur by June 2015. The company would then extend its services across the country through the rest of 2015.

The company has stated that it has made significant progress in establishing the physical network infrastructure, systems and processes as well as sales and distribution network and is ready to start its services. It is currently working with strategic partners, who are providing support in deployment of equipment and testing activities.

RJIL has to meet its Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) network rollout obligations by launching its services across 90 per cent of the urban service areas where it has won spectrum in the auctions and 50 per cent of rural areas in 2015. The company plans to start services in 900 towns initially, according to RIL’s 2014-15 annual report.
