The government has received cumulative bids of Rs 1,030.46 billion at the end of the eleventh day and 67 rounds of the ongoing spectrum auctions.
Up till now, about 87 per cent of the spectrum on sale had been provisionally allocated. According to the Department of Telecommunications, robust bidding is going on in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz spectrum bands.
The maximum bids were received for Punjab circle in the 900 MHz band, while Tamil Nadu circle saw maximum demand in the 1800 MHz band. In the 800 MHz spectrum band, the Northeast circle witnessed high bidding activity. Meanwhile, the low demand was witnessed for spectrum in all circles in the 2100 MHz band.
