The government has received cumulative bids of Rs 1,022.15 billion at the end of the tenth day of the ongoing spectrum auctions, a marginal increase from the previous day.
At the end of 61th round on the tenth day, about 87 per cent of the spectrum on sale had been provisionally allocated. The Department of Telecommunications is of the view that the competitive bidding in the 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands is expected to continue.
The maximum bids were received for Punjab circle in the 900 MHz band, while Tamil Nadu circle saw maximum demand in the 1800 MHz band. In the 800 MHz spectrum band, the Northeast and circle witnessed high bidding activity. Meanwhile, the low demand was witnessed for spectrum in all circles in the 2100 MHz band.
