According to the Telecom regulatory Authority of India, the top three telecom operators with a total subscriber base of 56.5 per cent accounted for 70 per cent of the total market revenues for the quarter ended June 2014. The three operators are Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular. Airtel had 22.8 per cent of the total subscriber market share and 31.1 per cent of the revenue market share for the quarter ended June 2014 while Vodafone and Idea Cellular had 23.2 per cent and 17.1 per cent revenue market share respectively. Vodafone had a subscriber base of 8.5 per cent in April-June 2014 and Idea Cellular captured 15.2 per cent of the subscriber share in the referred time period.
In April-June 2014, Tata Teleservices, which had a 6.9 per cent subscriber market share, accounted for 7.1 per cent to the total market revenues. Further, Reliance Communications, which had 11.9 per cent subscriber market share, generated 6.7 per cent of the total market revenues.
