BSNL has revised the pulse rates for local calls made to fixed line and cellular subscribers of private telecom companies. In the case of fixed lines, the pulse rate has been revised to 180 seconds from the existing 45 seconds for the same Rs 1.20. This will result in up to 75 per cent reduction in call charges. Presently, by paying Rs 1.20, BSNL's fixed line subscribers can talk to fixed line subscribers of a private telecom company for 45 seconds only. For calls made to subscribers of private cellular operators, the pulse rate has been revised to 60 seconds from 45 seconds.
This will result in a 25 per cent reduction in call charges.
Therefore, subscribers will now be able to talk up to 60 seconds by paying Rs 1.20. The new tariff structure eliminates the difference between intra-network and inter-network calls for the purpose of call charges and is applicable with immediate effect.
