BSNL plans to start its own ILD operations by June 2006

BSNL plans to start its own ILD operations by June 2006. It has already started routing calls to Nepal through its own network and will do the same for Bangladesh by May. This will be a blow to Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL), as BSNL earlier routed all its ILD calls through it. Now it will not only use its own network, but will also compete with VSNL for a share of the Rs 42 billion ILD business.
