BSNL puts its revival plans on the fast track, chalks out plans to monetise its land assets
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has put its revival plans on the fast track.
The company has reportedly in the process of chalking out plans to monetise its land assets, which are valued at Rs 135 billion. This, as per news reports, will be executed by parcelling the land out for housing and commercial projects.
The company has identified 82 land parcels across the country for this purpose.
Meanwhile, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has approached the empowered group of ministers for permission to monetise five land parcels as a pilot project.
These land parcels will reportedly be offered for development to private players through a bidding process under the supervision of BSNL’s Board.
