Bharti Enterprises undertakes a restructuring exercise
Bharti Enterprises has undertaken an internal restructuring exercise, say news reports. The new organisation structure will be effective from April 1, 2014 onwards.
As a part of the same, Manoj Kohli has taken over as managing director of Bharti Enterprises. In this capacity, he will spearhead all of the group’s non-telecom businesses as well as oversee the company’s business development, corporate and shareholder relations functions. He will also be a part of various boards within the company, including Airtel and serve the chairman of Bharti Airtel International (Netherlands) BV.
Meanwhile, Akhil Gupta has been designated as chairman, Bharti Infratel and vice chairman of Bharti Enterprises. D.S. Rawat, chief executive officer (CEO), Bharti Infratel, has been appointed as managing director and CEO of Bharti Infratel and is being inducted into the board.
Christian de Faria will be appointed as managing director and CEO of the company’s African operations.
Further, the company’s Bangladesh and Sri Lanka operations are being brought back under the gamut of its South Asian operations. Gopal Vittal, currently joint managing director and CEO (India) will now serve as the managing director and CEO (India and South Asia).
