Vodafone India awards 4G network rollout contract to Huawei for the Karnataka and Kerala circles

Vodafone India has awarded a contract to China-based equipment vendor Huawei for the supply of base stations and other equipments for the latter's 4G networks in the Karnataka and Kerala circles. The operator is planning to launch 4G services in these circles by end-December 2015.
At present, Huawei is deploying 4G sites and expanding Vodafone's 3G network in these two circles. Further, Huawei is expected to get almost 60 per cent of 4G network deals from Vodafone India in the country.
Bharti Airtel has also awarded 4G network contracts to Huawei for the Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu circles.
