RCOM in talks with state governments for smart cities project
Reliance Communications (RCOM) has stated that it is in discussion with several state governments to execute smart cities project. The company is banking on business opportunities arising from cloud offerings and Internet of Things (IoT). This follows the government’s announcement to develop 98 smart cities in the country across states in the next five years.
The company also intends to leverage its partnership with US-based Jasper for providing IoT solutions in India. The partnership would combine the capabilities of RCOM’s 11 data center facilities and its global cloud exchange (Cloud X) platform with Jasper’s control centre platform to enable enterprises to launch, manage and monetise next generation IoT businesses.
