Shyam-Sistema mulls infrastructure sharing arrangement with RTIL (India)

The Shyam-Sistema joint venture is reportedly at an advanced stage of negotiation with Reliance Telecom Infrastructure Limited (RTIL) – Reliance Communications' (RCOM) tower arm – for a Rs 50 billion deal spread over 10 years. According to the arrangement, Shyam-Sistema will offer mobile services by using RTIL's infrastructure, both active and passive, for 10 years. ShyamSistema will also be able to offer roaming services in those circles where it does not have operations. Other players such as Datacom, Unitech, S Tel and Loop Telecom are also learnt to be exploring such business models.
