MTNL pays Rs 1.06 billion interim dividend to the government

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has paid an interim dividend of Rs 1.06 billion on its paid-up equity capital of Rs 6.3 billion to the government for financial year 2007-08. During the period 2000-01 to 2006-07, MTNL paid Rs 19.21 billion as dividend to all its shareholders, of which Rs 10.81 billion was paid to the government on its 56.25 per cent shareholding.
