Tata Communications has reported a decline of around 93.5 per cent in its net profits from Rs 923.9 million for the quarter ended September 2014 to Rs 60.2 million for the corresponding quarter in 2015. This can be attributed to a 66.5 per cent decline in the operator’s income, other than its income from operations, from Rs 1,634.7 million to Rs 548.2 million during the same period.
Meanwhile, the operator’s revenues increased marginally by 1.63 per cent from Rs 50.72 billion during the quarter ended September 2014 to Rs 51.54 billion during the quarter ended September 2015. The expenditure of the company also increased from Rs 48.34 billion to Rs 49.27 billion.
Further, the company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBIDTA) stood at Rs 7.72 billion for the quarter ended September 2015, a growth of 1.8 per cent over Rs 7.58 billion in the corresponding quarter in 2014. The company’s EBIDTA margin for the quarter ended September 2015 stood at 15 per cent.
The company’s revenues from the voice segment decreased by 9.3 per cent from Rs 22.82 billion during the quarter ended September 2015 to Rs 20.7 billion during the corresponding quarter in 2014. Meanwhile, the company’s data revenues increased by 16.9 per cent from Rs 22.13 billion to Rs 25.88 billion during the same period.
