MTNL posts loss of Rs 5.95 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2015

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has reported a standalone net loss of Rs 5.95 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2015 due to a significant increase in expenditure.
Further, the operator’s income from operations increased from 8.41 billion in the quarter ended March 31, 2014 to Rs 8.76 billion in the corresponding quarter in 2015.
Meanwhile, for the year ended March 2015, MTNL reported a net loss of 28.93 billion. In the previous year, the operator had reported a net profit of Rs 78.25 billion. MTNL’s income from operations increased from Rs 33.91 billion in the year ended March 2015 to Rs 34 billion in the year ended March 2014.
