China Telecom has posted a net profit of 16.82 billion yuan in the nine months ended September 2006. The company's revenues increased by 4.5 per cent to 127.2 billion yuan over the corresponding period of the previous year. Meanwhile, China Netcom has registered revenues of Rs 64.96 billion yuan for the first three quarters of 2006. In the quarter ended September 30, 2006, China Mobile, the world's largest mobile telephone company (by market value), has increased its profit by 23 per cent over the corresponding period in the previous year. Its net income increased to 15.9 billion yuan from 12.9 billion yuan in the previous year.
