Private equity players in race to acquire stake in Acme Telepower

Finance , November 15, 2006

Seven private equity players, including Blackstone, Carlyle, Goldman Sachs and Warburg Pincus, are reportedly trying to acquire 18-20 per cent stake in Acme Telepower, Delhi-based telecom infrastructure provider. However, the deal, valued at $200 million, could run into problems due to differences over valuation as Acme has set $1 billion as the purchase price for its stake.
