ShoreTel to invest $25 million in India by 2018
US-based ShoreTel Inc, a provider of IP phone systems and unified communications solutions, is planning to invest $25 million in India in the coming three to five years.
The company has also launched its first centre in India, situated in Bangalore, as part of its expansion plan in Asia Pacific region. The facility will provide for research and development, (R&D), sales and global support services. ShoreTel has already hired 100 employees (80 engineers and 20 support staff) and plans to employ 50 (40 engineers and 10 support staff) more by 2015.
Currently only about 13 per cent of the company's revenue comes from outside of US. The company’s expansion plans to India will support its existing R&D work for the development of next-generation products and solutions. The company has over 34,000 business customers serving over 300,000 users globally.
