Singapore Telecommunications and the Vodafone Group are interested in acquiring the 30 per cent stake in Taiwan Mobile that Taiwan Fixed Network is planning to sell. Taiwan Fixed Network's stake of about 1.485 billion shares is worth about 46 billion Taiwanese dollars.

Taiwan Mobile and Taiwan Fixed Network are eager to do away with their cross-holdings to comply with corporate governance principles. Taiwan Mobile owns about 10 per cent of Taiwan Fixed Network.
