For year-ended December 31, 2012, the company has posted revenue of CNY 283.07 billion. For the period under review, the operators’s revenue from mobile services and wireline services stood at CNY 117.83 billion and CNY 117.83 billion, respectively. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation including network leasing fees, stood at CNY 96.39 billion.
China Telecom’s net profit for the year declined by 9.5 per cent and stood at CNY 14.93 billion. In 2012, the company completed the acquisition of its core mobile network assets. China Telecom expects profitability to improve once it completes paying the leasing fees for these assets.
The operator added 34.15 million new mobile subscribers during 2012 and its total subscriber base as of December 31, 2012 stood at 161 million. 3G users accounted for 43 percent of this base. China Telecom added 32.76 new 3G subscribers in 2012. The fixed phone line subscribers declined by 6.6 million in 2012 to reach 163 million as of December 31, 2012.
The company’s revenue from fixed broadband business stood at CNY 67.8 billion. At the end of the year 2012, it had 90 million fixed broadband users.
The company expects to increase its capex from CNY 72.5 billion in 2012 to CNY 75 billion in 2013.
