Aircel offers free basic internet to new users

Aircel has launched a Free Basic Internet browsing service for all its new pre-paid customers.
This service can be availed for free for 90 days – from the date of activation and will work on all 2G and 3G networks. The users will able to browse the Internet at speed of 64 kbps (kilo bits per second).
The service would enable users to perform basic applications such as social chat, search function and access email. However, it is not intended for video streaming and video calling, gaming and movie downloads.
As per the company, 70 per cent of its customers access data for only about 10 days/ month, presenting a huge untapped opportunity.
